Welcome to PureScan (“we,” “us,” “our”). We are committed to helping you understand your beauty products while protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the limited information collected when you use our mobile application, PureScan (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Anonymity and No Account Required

PureScan is designed for anonymous use. We do not require or allow you to create an account. We do not collect or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise geographic location.

3. Data We Process for App Functionality (Crucial)

To provide the core ingredient scanning and analysis features, the App must process certain data in real-time.

• Product Label/Image Data: When you use the AI Skincare Scanner, you provide a photograph of a product ingredient label or the product itself.
• How it is Used: This image is immediately transmitted to a third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) processor to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR), converting the ingredients into text or identifying the product name.
• Retention Policy: We do not store or save these images. The image is processed in real-time and immediately deleted by the third-party processor once the analysis is complete and the ingredient text or product name has been returned to your device.
• Search Queries: If the AI determines a web search is necessary to find a product's full ingredients list (e.g., if you scan a full product bottle), the resulting product name is sent to a third-party search service to retrieve publicly available information.

4. Data We Collect for Analytics and Subscriptions

We collect anonymous data to improve our service, troubleshoot issues, and manage paid access:

• Analytics Data (via Third-Party Analytics Provider): We automatically collect general usage information, which helps us understand feature popularity and troubleshoot errors. This includes:
• Usage Data: Actions taken within the App (e.g., number of scans, database lookups, session duration).
• Crash Data: Information related to app crashes and errors, which helps us diagnose and fix bugs.
• Device Information: Non-precise details about your device and operating system.
• Non-Precise Location Data: We may collect country or city-level data (derived from your IP address) for aggregated user analysis and to provide the local UV Index. This data is not precise enough to identify your specific location.
• Subscription Data: We use a third-party billing service to manage subscriptions. This service tracks your subscription status and purchase history using an anonymized device or user ID, but we do not receive or store your credit card information or payment details.

5. How We Share and Disclose Data

We do not sell any data we collect. We share only the necessary, non-identifiable data with third-party service providers to power the App:

7. Data Security and Retention

• Retention: As described in Section 3, we do not store your images or personal identifiers. Anonymous analytics data is retained only for as long as necessary for business analysis and service improvement.
• Security: We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) when transmitting any data, including images, to our third-party processors. While we take reasonable steps to secure the information processed, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
